St. Andrew's has many opportunities available for further involvement in the life of the Parish.  A few of them are included here.  Additional opportunities are found in the Harmony newsletter and the weekly announcements.

Attend a Sunday School class.    Our new Children and Youth Sunday school classes have officially started and are off to a great start! But we need all the children of St. Andrew's to make it a success. Please make sure to bring your children and youth (ages 3 years old through 12th grades) each Sunday at 9:30AM. Downstairs are the classes for 3 & 4 years olds ("Let the Children Come"), K through 2nd grades ("Godly Play") and 3rd through 5th grades ("Living the Good News"). The 6th through 12th grades ("Making It Real and Relevant") meet upstairs in the Youth Room (across from the choir vesting room).  At 10:30AM, the children from age 3 through 2nd grade will take part in the Children's Chapel program, which will last until the Peace, at which time they will be brought upstairs to be with their families. The children in 3rd grade and above will join their family for the entire service at 10:30AM. Our teachers have worked hard to provide a fun and open environment and are ready and willing to share God's Word with our youngest members. Please join the fun!

Adult Sunday School through Lent:

NOOMA: Brought to you by Bob and Sandy Cook. We can get anything we want, from anywhere in the world, whenever we want it. That's how it is and that's how we want it to be. Still, our lives aren't any different than other generations before us. Our time is. We want spiritual direction, but it has to be real for us and available when we need it.   We want a new format for getting Christian perspectives. NOOMA is the new format. It's short films with communicators that really speak to us. Compact portable, and concise. Each NOOMA touches on issues that we care about, that we want to talk about, and it comes in a way that fits our world. It's a format that's there for us when we need it, as we need it, and how we need it. You are hereby challenged to show up and see for yourself.

Adult Sunday School through February 21st:

Celtic Christian Spirituality: This series will focus on learning about the history and nature of Celtic Spirituality, its development into current practices and the opportunity to experience some current liturgies and practices grounded in the Celtic way of understanding and worshiping God. Celtic Spirituality has its origin in Ireland and Scotland. St. Patrick and St. Columba are early personalities who are well known in the history of the Church. There is a focus on nature and God's presence in all of creation as well as on the Trinity, God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit as experienced in creation. Celtic Spirituality often speaks of Thin Places as those physical places in creation where people have experienced the sense of God being very close.

Let Your Life Speak…Facilitated by Leslie Burkardt, beginning February 28th :

Lent is the traditional time in our life as community that we either give something up or take something on.   Too often we do this individually, but the reality is that this Lenten practice should be anything but individual.   We are forever in the midst of the communion of saints – those who have gone on before us.   So it is in this spirit that we will gather each Sunday during Lent to first hear a word of wisdom from various saints and glean wisdom from them.   Then we will take our "q" from them to learn to listen to our life…where are the places and spaces we need to be open and encounter change – transformation.

We will hit on various topics such as: The Heart (relationships, passions, devotion, prayer life, etc), The Body (mental health, nutrition – mindful eating, rest, exercise, etc.), Creation (environmental caring, being good stewards of the earth and of all of creation), and Servanthood (living out our passion, relating to the other, etc.).   Knowing that we are not compartmentalized people but whole beings, one will flow into the other.   Part of each class will include sharing, self reflection and accountability.   Not to worry if you are unable to make every class, you will be able to step right into the conversation.   As we learn to listen to our life, we will allow our life to speak!    Hope you can join us on this holy journey!
