| Church Announcements (updated March 28): Quick Links:
SunTrust has created a campaign – My Cause – that has resulted in significant donations to charities and churches. For each parishioner or friend of St. Andrew’s who signs up for a new SunTrust checking account by June 30, 2008, accepts and uses a SunTrust Visa® Check Card to make a purchase by August 15, and chooses for SunTrust to donate to St Andrew’s, SunTrust will give St. Andrew’s $100. Or, they can choose to receive a $50 gift card for their own cause. To qualify, we simply ask that those who qualify complete an online redemption form by August 15. SunTrust has also introduced another program that cold benefit St. Andrew’s – “SunPoints for CharitySM.” Clients who have a SunTrust Visa Signature® or SunTrust Platinum Visa® with SunTrust Rewards® Credit Card,* or SunTrust Visa Check Card enrolled in the SunTrust Rewards program,** will be able to donate their SunPoints to participating 501(c)(3) organizations including St. Andrew’s. Donations can be made in $25, $50, or $100 denominations. The more our parishioners and friends use these applicable cards, the more points they can potentially turn into charitable gifts. Additionally, as an added benefit for 2008, SunTrust Bank will now match up to 60% of the contribution amount when clients redeem SunPoints for a charitable donation. For example, with your $25 contribution, SunTrust will add $15 for a total of $40. Ready to retire from your career? You could be facing a span of years equal to your entire working life. You're too young to retire from life and you always will be. There are many advertisements about planning one’s financial future and little is offered about how to actually plan one’s life, that is, what will bring direction and meaning to this stage of life. So what's next? The School of Ministry and Tom Kebba are sponsoring The 2young2retire course that addresses key issues: money, wellness, careers and small business opportunities, and community service with a focus on your possibilities. To begin, a “focus” group will be offered on April 15, 2008 (7:00 pm to 8:30 pm) at St. Andrew’s to introduce the program. There will be no fee for the focus group which will last approximately one and one-half hours. Interested people will be invited to attend an ongoing group that best fits their needs – there will be groups for individuals and couples. There will be a group at St. Andrew’s from April 29 to June 3 (six Tuesday evenings). There will be a manageable fee for the ongoing groups.
