Stephen Ministry: Christ Caring for People through People

Feeling Burdened or Overwhelmed?

Stephen Ministry is a special, confidential ministry of presence in which one Christian reaches out to another in a time of need. Through a one-on-one caring relationship, one who is hurting receives support and care during a difficult time.

A Stephen Minister is a trained lay member of St. Andrew’s who will:

  • visit with you regularly
  • listen
  • be absolutely confidential
  • offer resources and referrals if needed
  • pray for you
  • offer Christian love and support

A Stephen Minister is…
a caring, supportive Christian person who has a desire to be with you in times of illness, need, grief, or crisis. Stephen Ministry extends into the hospital and the nursing or retirement home as well as the home.

Needs that a Stephen Minister can be helpful with…

  • grief
  • depression
  • hospitalization
  • job loss
  • loneliness
  • being new in town
  • birth of a baby
  • disappointment
  • health problems
  • life changes
