| Stephen Ministry | ||||||
| St.
Andrew's is a Stephen Ministry congregation. A Stephen Minister is a caring,
supportive Christian person who has a desire to be with you in time of illness,
need, grief, or crisis. Stephen Ministry extends into the hospital and the
nursing or retirement home as well as the home. If you are feeling burdened
or overwhelmed, you might consider working with a Stephen Minister. Click
here for more information about this wonderful program. |

| Sunday School for All Ages | ||||||
Sunday School is an important part of Sunday mornings, and you are invited to join a class at any time. Adult Sunday School meets at 9:30 AM in Andy's Place. Our program for children begins with Children's Chapel at 9:30 a.m., and continues with Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. The children are escorted from Children's Chapel to join their classes downstairs and are led into church at the time of The Peace (about 10:45 AM) to join their families for the remainder of the service. Our Sunday School program for all ages runs during the traditional school year September through the end of May. |
||||||
| Nursery | ||||||
| Our Nursery was completely renovated in 2001, and we love our "new look!" We offer childcare provided by professional sitters from 9:30 a.m until Noon. We have a Nursery for infants, and a Nursery for toddlers. Parents are encouraged to bring their infants and toddlers from the Nursery to receive a blessing during the Communion. | ||||||
| Coffee Hour | ||||||
| Following the 10:30 service, you are invited to come to the Parish Hall for coffee and to meet others. As you come through the hallway leading to the Parish Hall, you will notice bulletin boards containing information about parish programs and activities. In the Parish Hall itself, we have two tables by the doorway on which you will find brochures about the Episcopal Church, devotional booklets and many other "freebies." Please help yourself! | ||||||
| Midweek Worship | ||||||
We have a midweek Holy Eucharist service in our beautiful chapel on Tuesdays at 12:15 p.m. This midweek service enables parishioners who work on Sundays to attend worship, as well as college students, people working downtown and anyone desiring some "quiet time" in the middle of the week. The chapel is located on the Tremont Street side of our property. Just enter through the Parish Office door. |

| Joining St. Andrew's | ||||||
| In
the fall and in the spring, we offer a Newcomer Orientation program. If
you have signed our guest book or filled out a visitor card, you will receive
a letter inviting you to consider joining St. Andrew's about a month before
Newcomer Orientation is scheduled. This program takes place on two weekday
nights, and new members are officially welcomed into our congregation on
the Sunday following those classes. If you are not an Episcopalian, you
can still join St. Andrew's! If you desire to learn more about the Episcopal Church, programs and classes are scheduled throughout the year. Once a year, we offer Confirmation instruction, in which individuals are invited to reaffirm their commitment to Christ in a special service presided over by our Bishop. If you are an Episcopalian, you can join St. Andrew's by calling the parish office (336-275-1651) and requesting a Letter of Transfer from the church you last attended. We will encourage you to attend Newcomer Orientation, as that will afford you the opportunity to meet others preparing to join the church and to learn more about our parish programs and ministries. |

| Parish Activities | ||||||
Our monthly newsletter, "Harmony", is the best source for up-to-date information on what's going on in the life and ministry of the parish. Each edition of "Harmony" contains a calendar of events as well as detailed information about special programs, services, and fellowship events. Please check out the Weekly Calendar and Monthly Calendar sections of the site for an current list of St. Andrew's activities. Please also read over carefully the announcements printed in the service leaflet each Sunday and on our web site. That's the easiest way to stay current. If you wish, you can call the office with your email address and be added to our Parish E-List. We send out a short blurb weekly with information and announcements. |
||||||
| What do you want to know more about? | ||||||
| Please call the parish office (336-275-1651) and ask to speak to Susan Matthews, our wonderful Parish Secretary. Susan can answer most questions you might have about life at St. Andrew's and can refer you to the right person to answer more difficult questions. | ||||||
