We have a warm, growing fellowship conveniently located close to downtown Greensboro. What is the style of music played?
At the 10:30 AM service we use the 1982 Hymnal and we have recently added Taize to some of our services during Holy Communion.
Do you have a choir?
Yes. The St. Andrew's Choir sings at the 10:30 AM service and holidays.If you are interested in finding out more about our choir, click here.
Do you celebrate Holy Communion?
Yes. We celebrate Holy Communion at the 8:30 AM, 10:30 AM services on Sunday and the mid-week service on Tuesdays at 12:15 PM which are held in the chapel.
Who is able to receive Communion?
All baptized persons are welcome to receive Holy Communion. You are invited to always come forward and receive a blessing by crossing your arms over your chest.
What is required of us when we come to the Eucharist?
It is required that we should examine our lives, repent of our sins, and be in love and charity with all people.
Why do you celebrate Holy Communion each Sunday?
Sunday is the Lord's Day, when we celebrate the resurrected Christ living among us. We celebrate Holy Eucharist each Sunday because Jesus commanded that those who follow him share in the continual remembrance of his life, death and resurrection, until his coming again.
Do you have Sunday School classes?
Yes, we have Spiritual Formation classes for all ages every Sunday morning. Classes take place from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM for adults and children.
What will my children do on Sunday mornings?
If your children attend Sunday School, there is a specific curriculum that they will follow that is age appropriate. Our classes are divided into age appropriate groups. There are classes for 3 and 4 year olds. Godly play classes are for children 5 years old to 2nd grade. The 3rd-5th graders in one group and 6th-12th graders are in one class together.
Is there a Youth Group for my kids?
We have a youth group that is called EYC at St. Andrew's. Our youth stay actively involved as group and participate in a variety of activities throughout the year. To find out more specific information that may be of interest click on EYC under Parish Life.
Are you involved in outreach?
Our parish family at St. Andrew's is involved in a number of outreach efforts not only in our local community, but regionally as well as internationally. Check out the section entitled Service for more information about the different ways we as a Christian community are called to serve.
